The ams OSRAM AS7056 and AS7057 medical and health sensors, currently available at Mouser, are the next generation of AFE vital signs sensors. The device enables users to detect biosignals such as PPG, PTT and proximity. PPG is currently the most used human resource management method, measuring pulse rate by collecting light modulated by blood vessels, expanding and contracting as the blood beats. In addition to HRM/HRV, photoblood pressure and SpO2 can also be achieved through two independently working photodiode input devices.

The AS7057 provides three LED driver outputs, can sample up to three photodiode inputs, and supports proximity detection combined into one PPG signal channel. The AS7056, on the other hand, has two LEDs and a VCSEL driver output, can sample up to three photodiode inputs, and supports proximity detection combined into one PPG signal channel. These devices provide a high degree of flexibility for multiple LED and photodiode arrangements in a variety of applications. And the sensor is optimized to support space-constrained applications such as in-ear vital signs monitoring. Medical and health sensors also employ two ADC channels for simultaneous PPG measurement and automatic photodiode offset control.

The sensor's low-power design and small size are ideal for headphones, fitness bands, smart watches, sports watches, and smart patches. And they are placed in a WLCSP.
